State Rep. Kelly Cassidy to Hold First Education Community Advisory Committee Meeting

CHICAGO, IL – State Representative Kelly Cassidy (D-Chicago) will be hosting an Education Community Advisory Committee on January 18th at 7 p.m. at her constituent service office located at 5533 N. Broadway in Chicago.

“This committee is designed to help facilitate a conversation between parents, teachers, faculty members, and other education advocates so that together we can improve our education system,” Cassidy said.  “Real improvements only occur when all of the stakeholders are brought to the table so I invite everyone to attend this open meeting of the Education Community Advisory Committee.”

Rep. Cassidy’s Education Community Advisory Committees was created to provide Rep. Cassidy with feedback and input directly from the people she represents.  Along with other Community Advisory Committees, the Education Community Advisory Committee is open to all 14th district residents.  In addition to advising Rep. Cassidy on legislation, the Education Community Advisory Committee will help promote and then select the winner of Rep. Cassidy’s Draft-A-Bill Competition.  The deadline for Rep. Cassidy’s Draft-A-Bill Competition is February 15th.

“Improving educational services is an investment in our children’s future,” Cassidy said.  “One of the topics we will be discussing at the meeting is improving parental involvement in children’s education. Creative solutions come from the community working together.”
